My sister, Christy, is expecting her 1st child, Christian + we thought we'd celebrate! Our theme was blue + footprints. I helped set up decorations, but had to leave early to photograph a wedding.
I am SO happy + excited for my sister. It's an amazing gift to be a mother + I tell myself everyday how lucky I am.
Here are a few snaps from the party.
Can't wait to meet you Christian!

WE PASSED!!!
We PASSED the BAR Exam! YAY! Actually, John passed but I feel that I was a big part of that...or not ;) What a relief! All of the law exams + countless hours of studying have paid off. SO happy! And I'm happy to say that his studying partner, Mike, passed as well. They worked their butts off studying, especially the last few weeks before the exam. They spent hard core studying time up at our family cabin in big bear. And it wasn't easy - they would actually take walks through the snow, all the while quizzing each other with flash cards. Now that's dedication. I'm so proud of my hubby:)
Here's John watching a basketball game on the tube, relaxing after finding out the good news.
This is Sophia's way of celebrating - rolling continuously down a grassy hill. Check out the excitement on her face!

San Diego Jewish Journal Photography [Abe Ordover]

I had the opportunity to photograph Abe,a talented nature photographer, at his gallery in Solana Beach for the SDJJ. I was impressed to learn that among his many journeys as a photographer, he traveled to Antarctica...twice!
Here's Abe with his beautiful dog, Luna.

San Diego Jewish Journal Photography [Survivors]
05.01.08
On Thursday, I watched a collection of images created during WWII, depicting children + families that had died during the Holocaust. I moved about the room at the SDJA as a group of 5th graders presented the slideshow along with commentary to 30 Holocaust survivors, who sat patiently + silently as they relived those unforgettable moments.
Many of the survivors were teary-eyed. I had to fight hard to hold back the tears myself. Seeing the images of children who had to endure that kind of suffering - it really affects you.
Some of the 5th graders were moved to tears as well.
Approximately 6 million Jews died during the Holocaust. 1.5 million of those were children. The Jewish Academy is trying to put up 1.5 million butterflies, designed by the students, around the school in memory of those children who died...in hopes that we will never forget.
